Information used to coordinate a repair request.

Last updated August 14, 2026. This notice describes how Local Fix Match collects, uses, discloses, protects, and retains personal information.

Accountability and contact

Local Fix Match is responsible for personal information under its control. Questions, access requests, corrections, consent withdrawals, and deletion requests can be sent to the privacy officer at privacy@localfixmatch.com.

What we collect

We collect the problem description, equipment category, urgency, service location, contact details, referral page, verification results, consent records, and request history that you submit. Providers also submit business identity, service scope, coverage, and applicable licence or certificate information. If voice or photo intake is used, audio, transcription, images, and AI-extracted visible details may be processed.

Optional product analytics

If PostHog is enabled, it remains off until you allow analytics. We send only bounded page and form-stage events such as landing viewed, intake started, and request reviewed. We exclude repair descriptions, photos, audio, addresses, names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal codes, and arbitrary form text. Autocapture and session replay are disabled. You can decline or reopen Analytics choices from the site footer.

One secure account

Customers, providers, and administrators use short-lived email verification codes for passwordless sign-in. Access is role-based. An administrator role is granted only to an exact verified email on the private allowlist; a provider cannot see customer details until its application is approved and the specific request is purchased. Provider responsibilities are detailed in the provider marketplace terms.

Calls and recordings

After a request is accepted, Local Fix Match may provide a proxy phone number so the customer and provider do not initially receive each other’s real phone numbers. Before a recorded connection, both parties hear that the call will be recorded, the purposes of recording, and an alternative if they do not consent. Recordings are used for service coordination, safety, and dispute resolution—not unrelated marketing or profiling. Authorized customers and providers may request access to recordings that concern them.

Photo intake

Photo intake is optional. Images are resized, converted to JPEG, and stripped of embedded metadata before AI analysis and private storage. Do not include people, private documents, or unrelated rooms. AI suggestions are not a diagnosis and must be reviewed before submission.

Why we use information

We use information to organize and store requests, verify accounts and addresses, assess serviceability, match approved providers, process lead-access payments, route private communications, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and measure service performance. We limit collection, use, and disclosure to purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate.

Who receives it

Before purchase, providers see only coarse request facts and verification indicators. After payment, the approved provider receives the information reasonably needed to handle that request. Payment, telephony, AI, map, analytics, storage, and transactional email processors receive only the information needed to provide their function and may process information outside Canada under their own safeguards and contracts. Providers operate independently and confirm their own availability, price, licence obligations, and service terms.

Retention, safeguards, and incidents

Unsubmitted photo uploads are removed after 24 hours, and submitted requests are scheduled for deletion after 90 days. The same 90-day schedule normally applies to submitted photos and proxy-call recordings unless a dispute, legal hold, access request, or legal obligation requires longer retention. Expired login material is removed automatically. Access is logged and restricted by role and purchased request. We keep required security-breach records and notify affected people and regulators where the applicable risk threshold is met.

Your choices

You may request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent. Some information may need to be retained for payment, fraud-prevention, dispute, tax, or other legal obligations. If you object to call recording, do not continue the recorded call; use the secure account or contact the privacy officer for another channel.
